Izzy update #3

It's been a while since my last update hehe...

Izzy now quacks like a duck. In fact, he enjoys quacking like a duck so much, that's [u]ALL[u] he's doing lol. He wanders around 'quack quackquack!'. It's hilarious. He's spot on with it too, very accurate.

He's been playing constantly with his giant boing. It's big macaw sized, so it's positively huge and we've hung a load of toys here and there on it for him. Unfortunately, he was bouncing on it and got it swinging so much that he smushed his rump against the wall. He recovered fine, but he bent three tail feathers.

Yep, the next thing we saw was ALL but one feather missing. He had snipping them all off. He's been eyeballing the final one all day now so I know he'll snip it soon too. He has an issue with mussed tail feathers. Not sure how to convince him to leave them alone, but alas, all those dark grey tipped baby feathers are gone. I hope he leaves the next batch in. He doesn't snip or pluck any of the grey feathers, thank god.

He managed to get into our B&G's big cage the other day and had such a time of it, we decided to splurge and get him one for himself. So now he has a huuuuuuuuge cage just for him. We've outfitted it with a boing, all his favourite toys, tons of perches and fun things. He has a blast and rarely wants to leave it now (unless someone is going outside, then he's rushing to them lol).

His best new friend is Tigo, the B&G macaw. They like to sit on their playstands and talk to each other. Every once in a while, Izzy will escape and do a mad rush to visit Tigo lol, so we moved their cages close enough that they can't touch, but can visit. Both birds seem the happier for it.

Well, that's my update and I'll share a pic!

No, they don't get to play on the same stand, we did it for pics!
