With me I had a similar experience with Buzz my 14 year old B&G Macaw that I rescued 4 years ago.I knew she was a female.I'm not new to parrots by far but the egglaying in the larger ones was new to me.I was never
told of any previous egglaying from the abusive home she came from.So it really caught me off guard when I walked in my birdroom and found an egg in her cage.Though I have other Macaws I knew it was hers because the others were still in their cage.Upon further inspection I discovered that the egg was broken so I removed it and there were no further eggs. But the standard for the larger parrots I believe it is to leave the egg with the hen for about 30-45 days or until they loss interest and then it is okay to take the egg away.I wish you well.
