I think if an illegal species is found you do have a certain ammount of time to relocate it to a legal state or even give it to a sanctuary or zoo.

I watched a news segment about a woman who kept a sugar glider in an illegal state. She was found out and told her options were to get it to another state or offer it up to the local zoo before it was destroyed. I can't see why that wouldn't apply to this guys quaker... if ever found out.

I personally wouldn't buy them because if they were ever reported it would break my heart to give them up.
