Thank God for parrot rescue organizations! These photos & videos makes me really appreciate the rescues, their volunteers and services. I was absolutely horrified at Cocos beak and noticed in all his videos, he kept putting up his foot to feel his new beak, even when he was trying to lunge for the camera! I think he will come around to exploring new toys and use his beak on them soon - its probally sensitive right after it was shortened.
When I rescued Gracie, my B&G macaw, her beak was a bit long & really sharp because she had no toys to chew in her former home. I had regular shipments of 20 lbs of colorful wood toy parts, so she became a fan of the UPS deliverymen, too ; ) Her beak was normal length within less than a month and went thru the toys about that fast.
