Hola Birdboard people!
Probably nobody here remembers me. I joined months and months ago, posted a couple of times, and just haven't been back. I am desperate for a great place to come and talk about all kinds of birds, so I'm going to give this another shot.
My name is Alika... obviously. I've been on this journey in birds for about two years now. I've ended up with three fids of my own and a career in bird training and education. My fids are Cami, a 2-year-old cockatiel, Beeper, a 9-year-old senegal parrot, and Sam, a 17-year-old blue fronted amazon. Beeper and Sam were both rescues, and I wouldn't trade them for the world.
I work at an aviary... a sort of bird zoo. Essentially, I help care for the birds in our education collection, assist in some training, and use the birds in education programs and bird shows. We have a variety of birds from parrots and raptors to emus and toucans and even an ibis coming into our collection this fall.
I hope I can contribute a lot to this board and learn some things from all of you as well. Thanks for giving me another chance.
Alika
