i just joined and am having the same problem (i live just south of indianapolis). i really would prefer a rescue, but the few i have found either won't respond or don't want to adopt to me because i have not owned a bird before. who cares that i have worked with rescue dogs and cats and though i know birds are very different, i am not one to give up when the going gets tough.
so, there are at least 2 of us in indiana who are looking........
