You can find some of their available birds on Petfinder.com. I have been working with Phoenix Landing a few months and I really like the ladies that run the organization. I have also attended two of their events -- an adoption event and a seminar. Attendance at a seminar is required to adopt one of their birds. There is also a home visit requirement as well. What I really like about Phoenix Landing is that they have you foster the bird that you want to adopt for 6 months before you finalize the adoption. I think this is great because it gives you the opportunity to find out in your own home and over time if the parrot that you have chosen is really a good match for you.

You can attend one of the adoption events to meet a bunch of the available birds in person, which is much better than just picking one out from the web. In my opinion, it's really hard to decide if you want to meet a particular bird just based on the descriptions on Petfinder. It's much better to go to an adoption event and meet the birdies in person,. It's also a great opportunity to interact with birds of all different sizes to see if you will be comfortable with your dream species of bird with no strings attached.
