Green cheeks and black caps are within the same genus, Pyrrhura, however, they are separate species... Similar to a lion and a tiger, both are in the Panthera genus but are separate species. A mutation would be like a normal tiger vs a white tiger, and a hybrid would be like a lion and a tiger bred together, creating a tigon or liger.
