Mary is a female. Only females will keep their pearling after they molt, males will lose them over a series of molts. Seymour still looks like a male to me but it's hard to tell with pieds so you usually have to go on behavior or have them DNA tested. Darnel looks like a male and Dexter looks like a female if that is pearling on the wings but it's even harder to tell with them since they are young still and are heavily pied. Behavior is usually a good way to tell. Males are generally more vocal, noisy, obnoxious and annoying, lol. Females have a tendency to be quieter and only chirp instead of sing although there are some girls that are just as noisy as the boys. The males will usually spend most of their time singing to and trying to impress the females.
I was going to have a couple of my birds DNA tested but didn't have to, they let me know if they were male or female pretty quick, lol.
