Tigo's cage, which is a single Macaw cage, I bought at a garage sale! The owner's divorced son tossed it in her garage and forgot about it. Paid 100 bucks and found out when I got it home that it's stainless steel. I danced a bit!
Izzy and Lilly share a double Macaw cage, each get half. I choked up the 600.00 for that lol, but it's so worth it to move the big 'family' table out of the breakfast area in the great room and insure I never have to house another big family Thanksgiving again due to having a huge cage in the 'eating' room. Oh, so worth the 600.00.
The rest of my inside birds have A&E type of double stackers. Not that they're ever really in them, but they all go back when they wish. Those, I got for free from a person closing a bird shop. Well, we don't let Xaf go anywhere he wishes... he gets bound up and shoved into a dirty sock drawer until we need him for something useful like... testing the air in mining caves or something.
Then, I have the rehab birds I take in, and most usually come with cages and assorted odds and ends, but if they're nice cages, I give them to the adoptees that get my rehabs. If they don't take em, I donate them to rescues in my area. Somehow, I always end up with at least a dozen or so 'house' cages. I think they breed. I could seriously open a used bird cage store.
