Hello from Texas

Hi everyone I'm new here from TX. As soon as I figure all this out I have got some questions!!
I have the Maverick birds, Brett Maverick the lovebird we caught in our backyard in 2004. Nobody would claim her so we bought her a nice flight cage & kept her. Then in 2007 we caught Bart Maverick the cockatiel in the frontyard, same story nobody would claim him so we bought him a huge cage & parked it next to Brett. She was SO happy to have a pal next to her.

Last week we caught Beau Maverick, sex unkown so far, breed or variety unknown too. Beau is a dove but a dove that someone had to have bred as a pet because this dove doesn't look like ANY of the wild dove that frequent the area.. can't find a dove like this in a field guide either and finally our avian vet confirms that this is no wild dove. Poor Beau was out front in the pouring rain, covered in some kind of grease & unable to fly into a tree. Caught by hand thankfully because it got cold that night. I think a soaking wet cold domesticated bird would not have lived through the night.
I'm going to stop this post, look for the right place to ask questions about a dove & then ask a lot of them! lol
Nice to find this board, thanks in advance for any & all help with Beau.
