Some good news and progress was made today!!
After last night's incident, I started searching online for people who could help because I knew there had to be some out there. I ran across an organization called Peak Parent that helps people with issues like ours. They gave me the information for a Special Education Advocate in our area who I have contacted and am waiting to hear back from. They were sure she would be able to help us with the issues at school and his IEP.
I also found out that in the state of Colorado, there is a program called Safe 2 Tell. It is a hotline that people can call to report anything they find scary or threatening to their family or children. (You can check it out at
Safe 2 Tell: Colorado Prevention Initiative for School Safety) and they gave us their 1-800 hotline number to call. You can even report things anonymously.
Anyway, I thought I would let everyone know that there is help out there and we did find it and now all we can do is make the good things start happening! The lady that I emailed was very polite and told me she was there if I ever needed anything, which is really nice to know that someone out there knows I'm not just being an overprotective Mommy here!
