Its a better deal and it will stay good for a LOOOONG time if you keep it in a dry place. I buy it in a 25lb box:) White millet is the most redily accepted but get it from a reputable company and it should be bright golden color. Keep it bug free! Pantry moths love it and the little sticky moth traps kept nearby help prevent that. I personally transfer it to plastic tubs or tupperware and precut it all into serving size pieces before I store it. I take all the stems and seeds that fall while doing so and dump it outside for the wild birds to "recycle".
