No Pionus aren't the best talkers and most of the time it's hard to make out what they are saying in that raspy voice.
Our Gracie started talking at 7 or 8 months old.
The loudest & clearest thing she says is "JUDY" (my wife's name),
"Pretty bird" or "Gracie is such a pretty bird", and "I love you".
She hasn't got the vocabulary that our Budgie Petey does, but she loves copying sounds...
cellphone beeps,
computer clicks,
and every galdurn sticky hinge & squeeky floorboard in the entire house.
