All of my GCC's and Suns do the same thing. They seem to have their BIG poop first thing in the morning, a few minutes after they wake up. I just have them step up and put them on the floor, either on a towel or newspaper and say "poop". It takes a few minutes... they walk backwards, forwards, wiggle their tails, it's really quite cute, but they do squirt, lol. Then turn their heads and look at it, and want to step up.
They can be trained and it's been super easy with all of my conures.
