[Fruit Basket]

Hello to everyone!

I am really glad I found this website. I have been a passionate bird lover and owner for most of my life. At this time I have one cockatiel named Miley, and two lovebirds named Mango and Kiwi, a.k.a "Fruit Basket", as my husband says.

In the past I have owned two other cockatiels (Sunny and Sam) and four parakeets (Lilly, Oscar, Skyler and Charlie), all at the same time. Unfortunately I had to adopt them out because I joined the military. Now that I'm a civilian again, I thought it was time to build another family!!

I adopt abused birds. Sunny and Sam were abused and neglected by their previous owner, and after working with them patiently, they turned into sweet cuddly birds. The lovebirds I have now were also abused by their previous owners. I have had them for almost a month, and the male (Mango) is now a bundle of love who cant get enough kisses. The female (Kiwi) is a bit more hesitant to trust, but she is coming along quite well. She gives me kisses and steps up, just with caution. She is a bit nippy (gentle), but that is a great improvement, considering she used to make me bleed. I am confident that in time she will be just as loving as any other bird I have ever owned!

My cockatiel, Miley, is the sweetest thing, she cuddles with everyone she meets!
