Yeah I know rushdoggie is an odd name for a person on a bird board, but its my online name everywhere and I wasn't feeling creative enough to come up with a new one. :)

My name is Beth, and my husband Alan and I are the new parents of a baby red-bellied parrot we named Zeek. Zeek is about 14 weeks old, and he's terribly cute and very funny.

Neither Alan or I have owned a bird before, but I have been a dog owner for many years and my hobby is training our 3 dogs for competition obedience and agility. I plan to use a clicker to train Zeke some "silly parrot tricks" and some husbandry behaviors.

We spend about 6 months researching birds and bird care, but I'm sure we have a lot to learn and look forwards to learning from people here.
