After 100 posts my bird now "owns" me... And I've never introduced myself...
Hello....
I'm Roger from Kelowna, BC, Canada and 46 years old. I have had only four birds in my lifetime - but birds do live a long time... Gari the Green Cheek is my current fid and she captured the heart of both my wife and me.
We live in an "animal house." Gari is our only fid - but we have two dogs - TaTa and VuVu. VuVu is a four month old puppy and has been with us for just over a month now. Our elder dog (JayJay) passed away after 15 years...
... and TaTa was very lonely - so VuVu arrived for her to take care of. We also have a cat (Uni - which means "sea urchin" in Japanese). We also used to have another cat (Ebi or "shrimp" in Japanese) but she passed away about one year ago. Since Uni and Ebi split the upstairs and downstairs portions of our home between them - Uni has not missed Ebi at all and is quite happy to be able to travel downstairs at this point in her life!!
With respect to birds there are some things that I feel very strongly about... One is that their happiness is paramount - even if it involves some risk... So I will make no bones about posting what happens with my family and the interactions. Please see:
