Increasing calcium and protein during breeding season.... using Full Spectrum lights to ensure they absorb calcium...
I don't know for zons but for cockatiels, adults recommended protein is 11-18% (18% being on the high side - which is about right for most all species) but chicks recommend is perhaps 18-22% protein...
