I love avacado as well and the smell has not seemed to harm the birds I've owned. According to what I've read it is one of the fatty acids in avacado that, when eaten, *can* (not will) cause breathing problems in birds. There are certainly a large number of cases of birds being fed avacado and having no issues - but that doesn't mean they won't in the long run. Frankly I just don't chance it...

The main issue I have is that if I have avacado in my salad at supper I had an uninvited guest fly over and attempt to steal my salad...
