It could happen over night or it might take months before they are fully comfortable with each other. Chances are that it will take at least a few weeks. Generally speaking, it's best to keep them with their own species though. Peachies can be aggressive. In the meantime, put a few extra food and water bowls in the cage so they each have spots to drink and eat alone.

The best way to get them together is to keep the cages side by side and let them chat with each other. Then you can put the female in the male's cage for longer and longer periods of time (under supervision) and see how they progress. If the black masked turns out to be female, don't try to put them together.
