Frankly my cat is not a mouser and is "indoors only" so she seems to total ignore the bird - but I know how *fast* cats are when they want to be... I remain suspicious and don't really want to take a chance even when supervised.

Cat's can also carry a bacteria (cat scratch fever - Bartonella) and I'm not sure that I would like a chance that a bird may be infected with this bacteria through play - although the cat would have to scratch the bird to spread the infection.
