I use Avian Biotech all the time. many many birds. Acccurate, easy, cheap.
Avian Services Center: DNA sexing and disease testing for all species of birds.
I do blood from a nail - it IS less painful than feathers. I know this from many expiriences with my birds and birds done for others. I HATE pulling feathers. JMO
