We have a re-homed Amazon, here with us just over two months. She has a cyst over her left eye. One vet saw her before we brought her home, and said not to do anything with it unless it changed, grew, leaked fluid, etc. It has remained exactly the same. Another vet wanted us to bring her in and have it surgicially removed (I e-mailed him photos). This bird was never handled, has real fear issues, and is settling into our home, and I didn't want to stress her unnecessarily by subjecting her to toweling, driving an hour to the vet, surgery, and after care, destroying the trust she is slowly building with us. I was told it could be an encapsulated cyst, so it's very interesting to read about your bird and what your vet recommended. There has been no change at all in Paca's cyst since we got her March 22nd.
