You also could try putting pellets in the cage first thing in the morning when they are hungriest (no food in cage at night). After an hour or two you do need to put in the regular food, and I'd keep the seed mixed with pellets. You don't want them losing weight, but you do want them to try the pellets. Don't forget fresh food also, mostly fresh vegetables. They are important to feed whatever else they are getting.
