Most of the parrotlets I have seen, worked with, and have known in my lifetime become relatively aggressive once matured, even if they are hand tamed. They may still step up and act social, but they have a reputation for being nippy. That being said, many of them are a bit fragile and can die very easily. I have heard of more parrotlets passing away at the age of two or three than any other bird I can think of (including our very, very special green rump named Oliver.) Cockatiels are loving, affectionate, showy, silly, packed with personality, easy going, and relatively easy to take care of. When cared for properly, they are extremely hardy and can live 15-25 years. They make amazing pets and are fairly inexpensive to buy and keep. I vote for cockatiel!
