I would not suggest it. From what I understand, odd numbers are always risky especially with a bonded pair....especially with lovebirds. They are territorial as it is, I would not risk adding a third. I think you might very well be risking the life of the new addition. Get a separate cage....
Besides, you would never just thrust a newcomer into an existing cage with other lovebirds....even it were one on one, you would have to put them in separate cages side by side so they could get used to each other. Moving too fast with lovies is always dangerous as they aren't always keen to accept each other. Some do, eventually, as mine did...others may never.
