You will need to purchase blades. I don't think it comes with a blade but it might come with a #10. Either way you will need 2 #10 blades. Or 2 #7 blades. The higher the number on the blade the shorter the cut. A #10 is going to cut real close. Now they do sell specific horse clippers but I don't know brand names. They have a much wider head too.
Listen, why do you want to clipp him? Don't you have a shedding blade to get all that extra hair out. You might want to ask at a riding stable what they recommend. Judy
