Thank you both for the welcome.
Matt, I have recently added 4 nest boxes to the cage. Two of my hens are only 9 months old and their ceres have not shown any signs of entering the breeding mode. However, Tillie, who is 2 years old and Petey are bonded and have been seen breeding. I actually added the nest boxes for Tillie, but my studies regarding budgies advised to always have more nest boxes than you have hens. Even though Iggie and Jennie haven't matured for nesting yet, I was hoping to avoid "aggressive hen" behavior (lol) towards Tillie if she does go to nest.

So with the 4 boxes, each of the girls can call one hers...lol and feel like she got to choose a box if I had more boxes than hens. It looks as if Iggie and Chris are starting to bond as well. She lets him feed her, preen her, and they are nearly always together.

I have colony breed tiels and lovies, but budgies are totally new to me..so, advice is welcome. Deb
