Hello everyone,

I'm Claire, proud bird-mummy to my pair of budgies, Betty and Fizz. I found this site when I was researching how to tackle feather pulling, as I believe my male budgie Fizz has started to do this after he lost some wing feathers a few days ago. I believe he is stressed now, and has seemed to be over preening since then. He lost the long wing feathers when he became startled a few days ago and ended up flying into one of the perches. I'm sure I'll find some more information about this elsewhere on the forum.

Betty and Fizz are nearly three years old and beautiful, clever and outgoing. I also have a cat who is about twelve years old, she is perfect with the birds- in fact she totally ignores them, and they her.
