Bonnie for the most part whistles in return if she's in a talkative mood (this is usually around the afternoon, about 11-2pm) or doesn't if she's face-deep in food. Angel chats back too but Bonnie is the more active whistler.

Is there such a thing as whistling too much to the birds? I talk to them too, they understand ''ey!' (which usually means, don't do that), 'stop laughing at me!' which is used when Bonnie is making a laughing noise, 'go get your seed' when I've just changed it, and 'come see me' to Angel when she wants her head scritched but has to come closer for it. As well as 'awww pretty girl', again for Angel. But most of the time it's whistling

Your female cockatiel whistle too much? Are you sure it's not a male?
