EPA gets on TEFLON

I thought you guys might find this interesting. Apparently, the EPA has asked Teflon makers to phase out production by 2010-2015, acknowleging that the PFOA chemical may lead to cancer in humans and not just test animals as studies have already shown. Did you know that Dupont has been sued for some millions for trying to cover up this chemical's carcinogenic properties?

I didn't realize the harms in teflon myself until getting into birds. I was upset about the coverage I saw on CNN. They didn't even mention the chemical PFOA, and they mentioned that the government doesn't reccommend us to get rid of these products from our homes...
