Please crosspost this.
The attached photograph (courtesy of ProFauna Indonesia; shows illegally trapped Moluccan cockatoos on the premises of Kartini, the major smuggler of cockatoos and parrots on Seram Island, Indonesia. I'm sure that you are all tired of petitions, but with a newly elected Indonesian president, this is a prime time to try to make conservation of Indonesia's birdlife a priority. Won't you please take just a moment a sign this new petition to help to prevent the smuggling of Indonesian parrots and cockatoos? And cross-post it widely? All you really need to do is spread the URL.

The urgency of the situation is underscored by fresh information provided by ProFauna Indonesia, and summarized below the body of the petition.
I hope that you will join this campaign to stop the rampant and brutal decimation of these wondrous but beleaguered creatures, some of whom lie at the doorstep of extinction.
Thank you!
