Welcome to the board! Another cockatoo lover! Love it
As for the screaming, most cockatoos have two times during the day when they act out. Mine do it in the morning and in the evening. I take it as a sign of their happiness to be alive, and actually encourage it!!!
We have a goffins (Sassy) and she is a mess. Her screaming has toned down considerably, however, she is completely spoiled and she has hubby wrapped around her little finger!
As for the talking, Sassy doesn't say a whole lot and she is 2. She has just now learned how to say "peek a boo". Out of my four cockatoos, only 2 of them are good talkers; Sassy says the one word, and my LSC says "hello".
