My Humphrey gets upset when she hears other birds on the television. If you spend a lot of time with your bird, you will be a good friend for her. If you get another bird, yours might not bond with you as quickly.
Do you spend all day at work or school, away from the bird? REgardless of the answer, you should give your bird a few hours of attention every day. Even if you are in front of the computer, once your bird is tame, he can sit on your lap.. or while you watch tv he can sit on your lap while you pet his head. All of this counts as quality time. Quality time is also training him to step up, maybe do a trick or two...
