Hello fellow forum members.
I just wanted to introduce myself and my birds here. First off I'm Javier, I'm literally owned by my loving (and loved) yellow collar macaw ~Susie~ and my Australian cinnamon lovebird ~Melody~. Susie is 12 and she came to me about 6 or 8 months. She is my first rescued bird. Her owners husband passed away and she has more than 30 bird in their care. She realized it wasn’t fair for the birds and contacted a macaw rescue here in Florida. I ironically have been in search for a macaw for a yr and i decided since I'm young and still in school let me volunteer with birds. I chose that macaw rescue and i had to convince the lady to let me visit and she was impressed with the capabilities a mere 16 year old can do with her 18 macaws! Melody on the other hand I had since she was about 3 or 4 months ( she didn't have her full color ) and I've had her for 2 years this summer. We've had are ups and downs ( mainly Susie with her problems )lol. So yeah, I wanted to finally introduce myself and my two girls.
