I love my fids!!! There is very little that isn't absolutly adorable about these critters. Every night usually starting near 6 PM Sophie starts going to town. Just jabbering away. She is far away from actually saying understandable words yet but the form is there. Mostly tho she is just doing her own little language there. Maybe its an Ekkie thing but I swear she sounds more like a monkey then a bird. ooo ooo aaah aaah. It is so funny to hear it. I mean right out of the blue usually too. She every once in awhile lets out a yell that pulls ur head into the shell and toes curl up. But that is rare.
Meanwhile Zoey sits there and does her look at me aren't I cute dance trying to get our attention. Followed by a couple of her hellos and that cute lil squeek she does. Just as things get quiet...............Benji starts up squakin and yellin provin my point about being our loudest. Once all that settles it is cuddle time. Benji doesn't want any of that yet so we respect it. Sophie goes up on the playstation and Zoey comes over for here skritchin (and loose feather pullin while molting) which she just adores. Having her head, cheaks, and neck skritched. She even gets so into it sometimes that if I am not holding her up she falls over! Then comes the only gracefull switch of the day. The only time they don't try to eat each other. Sophie wants to be held on my chest right under my chin for a few minutes then moves to my shoulder and does her puff up thing and relaxes in. She isn't into skritches yet and very little petting. After about 15 minutes of leaning against my head and being cozy she starts.................one light nibble on my ear. She knows it tickles. She knows if she does it quickly I start laughing and turn my head. From time to time she likes to get ahold of the bridge on my nose! Something in the way it feels to her she likes to exert a bit of pressure. If I am not quick I can see this going bad. So I don't believe this game will go on much longer. I watched her eat a chicken leg the other day. She broke the bone. That bone is harder then my nose. YIKES!!! My birdies have some great personalities and no two are the same. I sure love my fids!
