It's a Lumix DMC-FZ5PP, 5 megapixel, 12x optical w/a Leica lens and image stabilization, in case anyone is wondering. I purchased a 1 gig memory card to go with it, as it only came with a 16 meg card....
So I'm learning to use it, and of course I had to photograph the birdies. Here are my first pix with that camera. I hope you like them:-).
Here's Petey McSweet on the perch we paid $40 for at a bird expo. The toys were added later.
Here's Bob on the floor, retrieving an almond he dropped:
Here's a funky/artsy pic of Bob in motion (the image stabilization doesn't work when the object is in motion, apparently--just when the photographer's hands are....):
Finally, here are a couple taken with the flash:
Bob, peeking out from his fav perch.
And Gracie, just sitting on a branch:
I want to get a digital camera, also, and I'm trying to make up my mind whether to get one of these (they cost $360, + $30 for the 1 gig memory card, which was on sale at Frye's), or the digital Canon Rebel that I've been drooling over for years. This one is a lot smaller and lighter weight, which is an advantage, but the other is more like what I'm used to using.
