I'm looking too - probably a good thing as my list of possible birds changes as I read many of the threads. You can get very excited about each species. They're all so beautiful and each type has something special. It has been a lot of reading & research along the way & I'm learning lots here. Everyone has favourites & some have a 'zoo' of birdie types.
so you get a whole different understanding of specific birds, dynamics, + personalities.
Doves seem like an unusual bird pet - to me, as I don't know anyone with them. If they're as gentle as I imagin, you probably would enjoy budgies, bourkes or other aviary parakeets, lineolated [linnies], or finches, as they're gentler too.
