be careful using a lighter. Even the heat from a flashlight can be too much for the eggs. There really is no way to prevent egg binding short of a hysterectomy. I would let her sit on the eggs for the next 2-3 weeks and see if they hatch. If they do not, then remove them and separate the two (but let them play together). This may deter mating. There is no guarantee that she will not have eggs again, as they can lay eggs without even having a mate.
