It is good advice. The nearest avian vets to me at all 45+ minutes away. The nearest 24 hour emergency place that sees birds is an hour away. I haven't been there, but it's probably not a bad idea to take a drive just in case. The vet where I work has a vet who "sees birds" but in no way would you want to go there if your bird was sick or injured! Although I guess we could at least give oxygen and possibly stabilize so that you could make the trip to the other place.
