the general
I have a pionus who hatched inmay of this year. when he first came to me he was completly unhandable and aggressive. He would attack anytime he got the chance
willnow he is 6 months and is still aggressive however i can now handle him and scratch his head for a few minutes anyway before he bites.
the other day he got his first( love first)wing and neil clip which he handled quite well and did not try to bite.
he such a fearless little guy. he afraid of nothing. he loves his toys. whenever he get a new one there never any introduction of the toy needed. I just put it in his cage and he goes straight for it and plays with the new toy for hours
at my bird club i took him to have him photograpohed by a professional photographer who uses the pic to put on note cards and pic etc and sells . so i had to sign a model release.
although general was not haming it up like some other parrots he took it in stride and ignored the guy waving a flag trying to get his attention
but good news the photographer feel in love with him and took numerous pic and snapeed at his assistant when he tried to call for the next bird.
the general has far to go in his behavior i know. he still aggressive still bites but he is now steping up and tolerating head scratches so he come a long way
