I went to one of the chain pet stores yesterday, and have never seen so many Cockatiels.
I know they were for holiday buyers. Lots of Budgies and smaller parrots too. It was really noticable. One beautiful Rosella, all alone in a cage.
It's heartbreaking. Yes, a lot of people do not realize the intellegence, beauty and soul of a bird.
All of us who truely know and appreciate birds need to educate and spread the word that it is not "just a bird" but a soulful, intellegent, sensitive and loving creature who will need a loving home and a grateful human flock
for life.
