i too wouldn't chance it something my go wrong when i get my bird i would not be leaving it alone overnight on its own without someone coming over to check on him. water should be changed daily and food kept fresh. clean cage everyday i mean like take out the paper or what ever substrate you use. there dropings can cause diesease. there cage should be disfected once a week or even more. toys, perches, every couple of days. You could always take your bird with you,Julie at the pet shop here takes her birds where ever she goes if she goes to melbourne they go too she has even taken them to canberra which is a 9 to 10 hour trip. You could find that some birds get into trouble when left home alone and you have to watch it some birds know how to open there cages up. Going out for the day is fine but i wouldn't leave a bird overnight on its own things can happen and there will be no one there to care for him.
