hi hendersongirl
As stated a scared birdie does not make you a bad birdie mom, I have been involved with birds for many years, and is why I got into the bird toy and cage business, mostly pet stores do not have a "bird" person taking care of and socializing the babies, so they do not know how to interact with people, just keep talking to her and offering treats, see if you can slowly get her to step up, don't force yourself on her, patience is a virtue, it once took me 6 months to get a Quaker to NOT draw blood, now she is the sweetest thing and always thanks you for her treat. Get to know her, and spend much time with her, the only thing with getting another bird is they may become friends and avoid you
