HOWDY from Tennessee! Do your research, post questions. My family has a tiel and we are babysitting Cecil. Due to the informative folks on here, I have requested an Eclectus to be taken home in July. (long trip before that).
So, if you have breed specific questions, this is the place to be.
You are doing the perfect thing by research. Get yourself some reading material and make SURE you want to dedicate yourself to a bird. It's not fair to them to bring them home, then they act natural and it interferes with your life and you give them away.
Example:My hand is not as bruised this am from Cecil yesterday. First time bite. That's my fault, not his, for not reading him right. He's moody, bottom line.
So, spend some time researching. If possible, go to somebodies house that has birds you might like and spend awhile. Ask a local vet if you don't know any personally.
