Hello Samiam1022...........What was wrong with the little budgie??? You might consider using a different vet first.......I heard that pet insurance isn't what it is cracked up to be but I don't remember the exact reasons why. I do remember that I decided against it for whatever reasons, back whenever .............I think you should just make sure you buy any future birds from reputable breeders who practice good animal husbandry and make sure you quarantine all new arrivals. Provide excellent diet and proper lighting/sunshine, exercise, large flight, toys, playmates etc..... and you probably will never need a vet again.....Oh yeah, a birdy medicine chest is helpful as are ALL THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS POSSIBLE for your pet birds while they are outside & even while inside, in their cages..........For any emergencies like accidental broken bones etc. I would have a reliable, fair Avian Vet lined up and ready to go when needed. One who will not fleece your pockets.......Maybe someone else can give you a more direct answer to your exact question, sorry I could not exactly help on that.......Good luck.
P.S: If you do get the pet insurance for your flock, will you please fill us in regarding the specifics.......Thanks. :)
