Here is Julien :)

Hi everyone, My name's Julien, I'm 18 yo and I'm french (I'm sure you'd have noticed it :p sorry for my oppriximate english)
I've just discovered this web site (yesterday when I was looking for informations about the severa macaw). Now you know what kind of parrot is my favourite
Here in France there are a lot of laws concerning parrots owning. To own main of the parrots you must have an official autorisation. And I passed it for three species : the yellow crested cockatoo (cacatua sulphurea sulphura, the severa macaw and the illiger's macaw). You've to complete a big file about you and the way you'll raise your bird (cage's size etc.)
I don't know where most of you come from but I was suprised (no, flabbergasted ! ) when I saw what parrots some of you owned (scarlet macaw (actually the one of my dreams....), hyacinth (!!!!! ), severa, maracana, etc. There can be numerous explanations : you're all rich , the parrots are free (?). Here it's certainely not the case : 1 hyacinth costs about 15 000€.
I think I can stop writing. Let's read this forum's content :)
