If your talking about $15k Francs, thats $3,000 USD.

Now, to compare, Hyacinths here easily sell $10k-$15k USD. That's $48k-$72K Francs.



I haven't heard of anyone needing to take any sort of test to own a parrot, and I'm VERY glad that they have that test in France! Here in America (and many places around the world), if you have the money (that is, if the bird is not free), more often than not the bird is yours.... Unless either one, you adopt from a rescue (which may have ridiculous expectations) or for someone who genuinely cares for their birds and screens potential adopters...

I can understand it may be a pain to do a test like that, but IMO it's needed here in the US! Would love to learn more about it and how they screen you for certain species!
