I am leaning towards the parents since you say Oliver loves them and they love him.....but with very strict instructions on bird care and a letter to your avian vet authorizing care on your account. There is another possibility, the Birdboard birdsitting connections in the FAQ and resources forum, don't know if we already have someone in your area listed.

If you can't be sure about your parents taking safety precautions, then I would go with the professional sitter, Oliver would recover from a week of being stuck in his cage-maybe a bit grumpily, but he WON'T recover from teflon poisoning or the like.
